EB6 Decision
Dear Members,
Today, Thursday 11 August 2011, the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission handed down their decision in our wage case.
Further detail and analysis will be distributed to members.
The result is as follows:
QIRC Full Bench Wage Case Decision
1. This afternoon the full bench of the Queensland Industrial Relations Commission (QIRC) handed down the Wage Case Decision for all QPUE members.
2. The QIRC is independent of Government and has the same status as the law courts.
3. The wage outcome is:
3.8% - effective from 1 July 2010
3.8% - effective from 1 July 2011
3.5% - effective from 1 July 2012
4. The increases determined will replace each of the interim 2.5% increases already granted as from 1 July 2010 and 1 July 2011.
5. What this actually means is that an extra 1.3% will be paid from 1 July 2010 and this will also occur from 1 July 2011. The Union will canvass back payment arrangements with the QPS as soon as possible.
6. There are 20 other determinations in this decision and the Union will send out a more detailed update on these matters to members ASAP.
7. A full copy of the QIRC’s decision will be placed on the QPUE website. Please note that this decision is a binding decision like any other higher court judgement that has to be accepted by all parties.
