ABC: Police checking on baby's sudden death
Police are investigating the death of a newborn baby at Hervey Bay in southern Queensland.
Police say they were notified of the infant's death at a Point Vernon home early yesterday morning.
It is believed the baby died some time on Wednesday night.
Detective Inspector David Breeze says the cause of death is unknown.
"We investigate all sudden deaths that involve children," he said.
Inspector Breeze says the baby's parents are helping with the investigation.
